Dr. Adam Stewart
Adam Stewart is one of the Caribbeans most dynamic and accomplished business executives. Stewart is Deputy Chairman of the company his father founded, Sandals Resorts International, one of the worlds most recognised hospitality brands and the Caribbeans leading luxury all-inclusive resort company. He also serves as Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for the family-owned ATL Group, comprising the Jamaica Observer newspaper, Appliance Traders Limited, a chain of domestic and commercial appliance outlets and ATL Automotive Limited. He is president of the company’s philanthropic arm, the Sandals Foundation, that works to improve the lives of Caribbean people through investment in sustainable regional projects focusing on education, community and the environment; and is the Caribbean Patron for Canadas SickKids Foundation.

In 2012, Stewart founded the Sandals Corporate University, formalizing and expanding the company’s training division and allow employees to share in his commitment to self-improvement through educational opportunity. Stewart is also the founder of Island Routes Caribbean Adventures, offering the ultimate in Caribbean destination experiences and encouraging visitors to live funnier. Since its 2010 debut, Island Routes has expanded to 12 countries and has been named the World Travel Awards Leading Caribbean Tour Company. Stewart also partnered with Margaritaville Caribbean Group to create Caribbean Coffee Traders Limited (CCTL) and ink an agreement with the Starbucks Coffee Company in 2017 to exclusively own and operate Starbucks outlets in Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, the Cayman Islands and Panama. Since signing the agreement, CCTL has successfully opened 19 stores in these four countries with plans afoot for even more expansion.

Stewart is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jamaica Tourist Board, the Chairman of Jamaica’s Tourism Linkages Council under the Ministry of Tourism and served three terms as 1st Vice President of the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association. He also currently sits on the Board of Directors for the WISYNCO Group Limited. For his years of service, Stewart has received numerous awards and accolades. These include recognition as the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association’s Hotelier of the Year, Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Hotelier of the Year 2015 as well as World Travel Awards Rising Star. He has also received the Distinguished Alumni Torch Award from FIU and The Gleaner Company’s Jamaica 50 under 50 Award.

For his philanthropic efforts, Stewart received the Caribbean American Mover & Shaker Humanitarian of the Year Award in 2016; the Jerry Award for his commitment to the development of the Caribbean region in 2017 and in 2018, he was honoured with the Ambassador for the Poor Award by the Food for the Poor. In 2016, Stewart received the Order of Distinction (Commander Class) for outstanding contribution to tourism and the hotel industry, a national honour conferred by the Jamaican Government upon citizens who render outstanding and important services to the country.
