Fi Wi Sinting, now in its twentieth year is scheduled to be held on Sunday, 2010 February 14. The annual event celebrates Jamaica’s retention of its African heritage and is the largest celebration of its kind in the island. 'Fi Wi Sinting' brings together various elements of Jamaica's artistic heritage and culture in one location and features traditional music, song, dance and a marketplace showcasing artistic folk forms such as Kumina, Nyabinghi Drumming, Mento and a medley of other rhythms. Storytelling, poetry, fashion displays and libations to the ancestors complete the day’s activities. The event will be held at Somerset Falls in Hope Bay, Portland.
