Mr. John Lynch, Chairman of the Board and Director of Tourism

For more than 30 years John D. Lynch has been a steady force for many of the Caribbean’s most visible travel brands, including the country of Jamaica, its national airline, Air Jamaica, Ltd., Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts and the recently introduced, Royal Plantation group of luxury boutique resorts.  Rising from the tour business, Lynch has become one of the Caribbean’s most influential and sought-after experts, a critical player in bringing worldwide attention and ultimately visitors, to the region he knows so well.

Earl Jarrett, Deputy Chairman

A Chartered Accountant and a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Earl Jarrett is the General Manager of the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS), the largest building society in the Caribbean. The Society has 29 locations in Jamaica, ten operating offices in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States of America, and the Cayman Islands.  The JNBS offers a range of local subsidiaries, which deliver a variety of financial services including investment options, general insurance, mortgage and savings, real estate services and technology solutions.

Godfrey Dyer
 
Godfrey Dyer is a Tourism Consultant with over 35 years experience in the industry. He has served as Managing Director of Ironshore Resort Villas from 1972-1983 and Owner and Managing Director of the Wexford Court Hotel from 1977- 2006 when he sold the property. Mr. Dyer served on many boards including President of the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association, Vice President of the Private sector Organization of Jamaica and, World President of the Kiwanis International Foundation.  Currently, he serves as a Director of the Jamaica Tourist Board and the Tourism Enhancement Fund. 

Mr. Dyer is married and has five children.

Mr. Bruce Nobles
 
Mr. Bruce R. Nobles has recently been named President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Jamaica, the national carrier of Jamaica.  The appointment was announced earlier this fall.  A forty year veteran of the transportation industry, Bruce R. Nobles is most notably credited with leading the successful restructuring of Hawaiian Airlines, developing and introducing operations for the Pan Am Shuttle and for creating and implementing operations for the Trump Shuttle.  He previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Air Jamaica from June 2002 through March of 2003.  Having also held executive positions at Continental Airlines, Republic Airlines and American Airlines, Mr. Nobles is recognized as a leader in the aviation industry, and widely regarded as an authority on launching and establishing aviation products in the marketplace.

Mr. Wayne Cummings
 
Steven Wayne Cummings is a career hotelier with over 19 year’s experience.  He began his career at age 19 with Sandals Resorts International starting as a Management Trainee at Sandals Montego Bay.  Specializing in Rooms Division, he gained hands on experience in Housekeeping, Laundry, Front Desk, Reservations and Maintenance across Sandals’ Jamaican Resorts.
 
He has significant experience in the refurbishing and opening of hotel properties, having spent up to 3 ½ years focusing on construction in resorts here and in the Eastern Caribbean, and with the Projects and Development department of the corporate offices.

Josef Forstmayr

Josef Franz Forstmayr was born in Steyr, Austria and has been a part of Jamaica’s tourism since 1979.  He is currently Managing Director for the Round Hill Hotel and Villas which has won many awards as a top-rated resort. He was General Manager at the Trident Villas and Hotel in Port Antonio between 1980 and 1989 and from 1979 to 1980 was Assistant Manager and Resident Manger at Coconut Cove, Negril and Tryall Golf and Beach Hotel.

Mr. Lionel Reid

Lionel Reid has been involved in the Hotel Industry in Jamaica for over forty years. He entered the industry as a Night Auditor at what was then the Tower Isle Hotel (now Couples Ocho Rios) and quickly rose to the position of Chief Accountant which position he held for approximately four (4) years. He then relocated to Montego Bay where he served as Financial Controller and a senior member of the Management Team to the Montego Beach and Chatham Hotel (now Sea Garden) for a number of years.

Zein Issa Nakash
 
Zein Nakash, SuperClubs' vice president of marketing and environmental affairs since 1998, oversees SuperClubs' advertising and public relations efforts worldwide. No small feat now that SuperClubs has grown from a single all-inclusive in 1976 to 17 resorts in six countries.

Zein serves as a director of several organizations including: the Jamaica Tourist Board (Chair of the Events Committee), Jamaica Conservation & Development Trust and Hi-Lo Food Stores. She is also a member of the Caribbean Tourism Organization, Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association and Industry Advisory Council (Tourism Cluster).

Mr. Wright is a Jamaican with over 37 years experience in Tourism.  He holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Hotel Administration and MBA and has held senior management positions with international hotels in Germany, France, Switzerland and Jamaica.  He also worked for Hyatt Hotels in the U.S.A..

Mrs. Suzanne Risden-Foster

Born on July 18, 1962; mother of two (2) children; past student of St. Andrew High School for Girls (“O”/ “A” Levels); graduate  of the Norman Manley Law School [1995] (CLE); graduate of the University of the West Indies at both the Mona Campus and the Cave Hill Campus in Barbados (B.A. (Hons) (majoring in Government, Sociology and English Studies) [1986]; LL.B (Hons) [1993]); also graduate of the former Jamaica School of Art [1995] (now the Edna Manley School for the Visual & Performing Arts), (Diploma in Textiles (Hons).

Paul Pennicook

Paul Pennicook is a graduate of the school of Hotel Administration at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.  
An experienced Hotelier, Mr. Pennicook started his career at the Montego Beach Hotel in Montego Bay, Jamaica.  While at Cornell and immediately after, he worked at the Sheraton Hotel and Statler Inn both in Ithaca, New York before returning home.

Subsequently, he held management positions at the Holiday Inn – Montego Bay before going on to work as General Manager at Couples, Ocho Rios, then as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Superclubs.

Mrs. Evelyn Smith
 
Evelyn Smith is the 1st Vice President of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association as well as Chairperson of the Negril Chapter of the JHTA. Mrs. Smith is a Hospitality Marketing Consultant offering marketing and management services through her firm, Evelyn Smith and Associates.

Jennifer Griffith
 
Jennifer Griffith is the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Entertainment and Culture since January 2005. Prior to this she held the post of Senior Director, Strategic Planning and Evaluation with responsibilities straddling the tourism, industry and entertainment portfolios.
 
She joined the Ministry in 1997 as Tourism Planner and worked on a number of other policy initiatives and was responsible for co-coordinating the preparation of the Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism Development in Jamaica, the enactment of legislation establishing the Tourism Enhancement Fund and spearheaded the establishment of the Management Unit for the Fund.

Carrole Guntley
 
Carrole Ann Marie Guntley is a leading Caribbean tourism professional with multi-sectoral experience and proficiency in the industry.  With over thirty-one years of sterling contribution to tourism, she has established an international reputation for innovation and leadership in the field.
 
In addition to her membership on the JTB Board, Ms. Guntley is currently Director General (DG) in the Ministry of Tourism, Entertainment and Culture, a position she holds since 1999. As DG, she was instrumental in helping to create a sustainable tourism development Master Plan and initiated a policy, which provided short-term incentives for the attractions, villas and apartment sectors.
